The mission of AEE is "to promote the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry and to foster action for Sustainable Development." The National Chapter supports this goal in our region by connecting and educating our members and the local business community. We encourage the next generation of young professionals to get involved in this dynamic industry sector through engagement activities and our scholarship program. We educate and share success by highlighting local companies, municipalities, and universities with energy-efficient systems, outstanding facilities, or sustainability programs.
In addition to our standard chapter events, we are the professional mentor chapter for two student chapters at The George Washington University, and the University of Maryland.
We also have an active branch of The Council on Women in Energy & Environmental Leadership (CWEEL), a division of the AEE under our chapter's auspices.
