DC SEU Reimbursement Instructions for CEM 2026

  • The District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) DCSEU will reimburse the cost of this course for up to 10 participants (rebate limit is $2,250 per person). Payment must be received through AEE NCC event portal. The rebate will be issued after final paperwork submitted upon completion of course.
  • Eligibility requirements: must be a Washington D.C. resident or employed by a business located in Washington, D.C., and must enroll in Train Green, register for an Access Code, and complete the reimbursement request form.

STEPS FOR REBATE:

  1. CONFIRM ELIGIBILITY & GET FY 2026 TRAIN GREEN ACCESS
    1. Confirm your eligibility to take the CEM training. The course prepares participants for the Certified Energy Manager® (CEM®) exam. Work experience and education requirements can be found here: https://www.aeecenter.org/certified-energy-manager/becoming-a-cem/
    2. Accurately complete the Train Green SEICBP Program Access Form at SEICBP Train Green Program Access Form - DCSEU to receive your official Train Green Registrant Code. 
  2.  COMPLETE REIMBURSEMENT REQEUEST FORM ASAP
    1. Complete the reimbursement request form posted on DCSEU’s website here.  Submit the form to DCSEU via email to [email protected] as soon as possible. 
      1. You will receive a pre-approval letter that confirms your slot number (or a denial letter),
      2. If approved, you have 48 hours from the pre-approval letter to submit verification of course registration to hold your slot.
  3. REGISTER & PAY FOR CEM COURSE

    1. Register and pay for the Certified Energy Manager® in-person CEM offering in Washington, DC delivered by official training partners of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) National Capital Chapter scheduled for June 1-5, 2026. This specific rebate not eligible for CEM courses outside of this one hosted by AEE NCC. Use this link for registration and payment: Register and Pay HERE
    2. Submit proof of payment to [email protected] to hold your slot within 48 hours of receiving pre-approval letter.  Failure to submit receipt will result in your slot being relinquished and provided to the next person in que.
  4. GATHER ALL MATERIALS FOR SUBMISSION UPON COMPLETION OF COURSE
    1. CEM Course Certificate of Completion
    2. Proof of CEM Exam Passage (Note: if you do not pass the exam, only the course portion will be reimbursed. Email [email protected] for more details)
  5. REBATE REQUEST SUBMISSION AND APPROVAL
    1. All rebate requests must adhere to the terms and conditions outlined for the CEM Rebate Program.  Documentation outlined in Section 4 must be submitted via email to o [email protected] within 48 hours after final exam results are received.
