Mr. Barancewicz has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry. He spent 16 years working with Dominion Virginia Power and has worked for Loudoun County Government for 17 years. Early in his career, he worked for NASA at Langley Research Center and served as a BOMA Tidewater Region Vice President. Mr. Barancewicz was a contributing author of The Greenhouse Gas Protocol for the U.S. Public Sector published by The World Resources Institute. He currently serves on the Board for the Virginia Energy Purchasing Governmental Association and chaired VEPGA’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Committee for 3 years. In addition, he participates on the Metropolitan Washington Council of Government’s Climate, Energy & Environmental Policy Committee. Supporting the Association of Energy Engineers – National Capitol Chapter via Board membership is also a passion. He currently holds a Master’s Degree in Natural Resources from Virginia Tech and while attending classes at the Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability in Arlington Virginia, he participated on teams working in South Africa reviewing water scarcity issues across the social, economic, and environmental spectrum.
