Jared McGrath has four years of experience as an environmental engineer. His previous work experiences include floodplain mapping for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and designing sustainable urban farming solutions for the city of Atlanta, Georgia. Currently, he works as an Engineer for Eastern Research Group (ERG) on the facilities team, which plans renovation and construction projects for federal facilities while promoting energy efficiency and sustainable building principles.
Jared obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland and his Masters of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. His Master’s thesis was titled, “Production of hydrogen fuel from sustainable biomass feedstocks via heterogeneous catalysis.” Since graduating, he has obtained his Engineer in Training (EIT), LEED Accredited Professional (AP), and Energy Manager in Training (EMIT) certifications. A native of Maryland, he now lives in Rockville and is a new member of the National Capital Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers.
