Vice President at Edison Energy and located in the Washington DC area office, Doug Millar has over 26 years of experience with proven success in the field of optimized energy use, energy conservation, efficient HVAC in new construction, efficiency upgrades and implementation of capital projects in existing buildings.  With extensive experience in energy management, mechanical systems, electric and renewable energy, Doug’s knowledge and capabilities are especially significant in developing and providing a total facility or campus aggregate solution.  Mr. Millar has developed and managed multimillion dollar energy projects for key university, military, government, commercial and privately owned buildings throughout the U.S., having executed services for end use clients in over 30 states, including, Alaska, California, Florida, Arizona, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Maine and Texas.

Additionally, his expertise includes the design and installation of combined heat and power projects (co-generation), generators with gas turbines and reciprocating engineers, as well as automatic transfer switches. Mr. Millar’s notable, current work includes the DBOOM of a 1.2MW Co-Gen plant, 7.5MW E-Power project, and 2.4MW Co-Gen in development at major hospitals in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Mr. Millar is a current board member of the AEE National Capital Chapter, and serves as a committee member on the Tysons Partnership Sustainability Council.  He holds CEM, CBCP, and EBCP certifications. A U.S Navy Veteran (1984-1988), Doug has a BS in Finance from Rutgers University, as well as professional certifications from New York University and the Johnson Controls Institute of Milwaukee, further cultivating his industry expertise.
