AEE NCC X DesignForce Career Roadmap Workshop @ GWU

Join us for our workshop where you will learn how to set and achieve goals that can lead to a more fulfilling and successful career. While this event is targeted at those still finishing their degrees or recent graduates, professionals of all stages of their career will benefit from the topics that we’ll explore.

In this workshop, you will:

• Identify your career goals and develop a plan to achieve them.

Presenters

Tasmia Hussain, PE

Throughout her nine years working as a mechanical engineer, Tasmia was fortunate to have opportunities that helped her develop a passion for cultivating emotionally intelligent and healthy work environments, building genuine relationships, and above all, fostering human connection. It was this desire to connect with others and make a meaningful impact on people’s lives that drew Tasmia to DesignForce.

Tasmia is excited to be able to use her experience as an engineer to help improve the lives of professionals within the AEC industry and help people find fulfillment, motivation, and meaning in their careers.

 

Kara Taylor-Gonzalez

Kara is driven by her passion for building community and helping the people around her. She grew up between the US and Haiti with a very Caribbean family that loved her, challenged her, and supported her as she navigated her way through life. She feels like having that constant, steady rock in her life was foundational to her success, and wants to be that same force for other people in their lives.

She’s also a curious person, constantly looking to explore different cultures, after having lived in New Orleans where she got to learn the history and nexus of different cultures, through food, music, and the stories of the people around her. Although she loves people, being an extroverted introvert, you’ll also find her perfectly happy to have a cozy night in with a good book, a glass of wine, and her two kittens and her partner relaxing with her.
